Shane Wolf in Paris. . .

Just one of Shane Wolf's "Eleven Faces"

It's been nearly a year since I did an interview with Shane Wolf.  (Blog post July 28, 2010, (It's not all about me. . .meet artist Shane Wolf).

I had so admired his self portrait and he graciously granted an interview.  Now to top it off, Shane paints in Paris. . .need I say more?  He checked in via e-mail this week to share that he is having an open studio this coming weekend, and to inform me he had new work up on his site,  www.shane-wolf.com .

Please indulge and take a few minutes to look at his 2011 faces.  You will find a wonderful, clever showing of "Eleven Faces for Twenty-Eleven."  This is swoon worthy stuff. . .the expressions, the playful but masterful concept, the texture of the canvas, the pure paint Application.

The best part. . .they are all painted exclusively from life. . .we're talking looking in the mirror and painting what you see!  All are approximately 32" x 32" and you will not be disappointed.  And don't miss his 2011 figures.  They are so beautifully rendered showcasing the softness of form juxtaposed with line.  Nobody does it better. . .
