Tide Pool Replenished. . .

Tide Pool . 6" x 8" . oil on mounted linen

The tide came in over the weekend to refresh my own small tide pool with oxygen and life-giving sustenance. . .translation?  I had "company come to stay!"  My southern interpretation. . .

These friends, this couple, have been sharing their bounty with me for about thirty years and are a testament to cultivating all the riches our life has to offer.  Lest you think I'm speaking of money, I'm so not!  I'm referring to the rich rewards and results of hard work, sweet intention, great curiosity, passion, acceptance, honesty and true empathy to just name a few.  I won't speak of their love for one another, for that love seems too noble and cannot be treated frivolously.  .  .suffice it to say it warms my heart greatly to be in the presence of such love.

The business of "catching up" was tended to with non-stop vigor and the ease of revelations gave proof to our bond and the respect it deserves.  Living singularly gives one plenty of time to tumble thoughts around and around and around!  Sharing mind and matter without trepidation and a good laugh or two is really quite wonderful.  I am richer for it and I hope they feel the same.  Thank you for visiting!

This week starts with a renewed heart - my tide pool is once again stirring with life and possibilities.

"I always felt that the great high privilege, relief, and comfort of friendship was that one had to explain nothing."  - Katherine Mansfield
