Time Traveler. . .

Time has loomed large in my life of late and road travel took the supporting role for a change. . .put the two together to deliver a painting and "ooh la la" you have a little bit of magic.  Now, we're not talking about anything exotic here:

Nonetheless, quite praiseworthy!

Throw in the allure of friends of many years, along with the absolute ease of having a past history with folks, and you have something rather special.  Strolling their land with no thought of time - seeking out and identifying plant life, talking of nothing in particular and yet everything that matters.  Sharing their vista reminded me of how significant our very essence is. . .as the clouds drifted by. . .

We took a jaunt up the road to visit kind neighbors who have a dairy farm - the cattle were huge, gentle looking, covered-in-flies-beautiful.  Getting close to such large beasts who share our planet gives rise to your very own feeling of being human and our inexplicable connection to animal souls.

"Animals are such agreeable friends, they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms."  - George Eliot
(Although I'm not sure that can be said of the one on the left!)

Of course, not all beasts have to be large:

Frankie, the dog, pretending to be a yard statue.

Time with friends can revive the nerve endings - give rise to inspiration and imagination.  I delivered a cherished painting that now has a place in their beautiful home -

Sunny Wood . 26 x 40 . watercolor on paper

As we knot and weave our lives with friends we make rich our time.  I'm reminded of that especially today as it's my birthday; hearing from so many has given rise to time traveling down memory lane.  I've had the extreme pleasure of spending quality time with many since the spring, renewing some, simply honoring the bond of others.

It brings to mind the Norwegian proverb:
"On the road between the homes of friends, grass does not grow."

Coming soon:  you guessed it - cow paintings!
